Samsung and BBH bring nighttime stories to life so that families can lovingly connect across any distance. The VR experience “Bedtime VR Stories” creates an enchanting virtual reality of wonder for parents and children, whether they’re next to each other in bed or what feels like a million miles away. Kids wear the Google Cardboard, while parents sport the Samsung Gear VR, exploring the scenes together in a multi-user adventure.
Parent and child go on a magical adventure together to find the “Most Wonderful Place To Be.” I conceived the 2D app, where the parent creates their profile and invites their child to connect. Working closely with the developers, I ensured that the technology used would allow the notification system I envisioned.
Once within the VR environment, the parent needed some instruction on how to read the story and turn the pages. After a small tutorial, the first page of the story appears and the parent has to swipe using the controls on the Gear VR. If nothing happens after a certain period of time, an animation would discreetly remind them what was shown during the on-boarding process.
